The Private Voice Studio of Debo Ray

Your voice already knows.

The body learns a note before the brain does... lessons here start there. Feel first. Science second. And sixteen years of stages in the room with you.

Singing starts in the body.

Lessons here are intuitive and feel-based. You make the sound first... a free, resonant, full-bodied sound... and then you learn the science of why it works, in words you can actually use on a Tuesday night gig.

There is no fixed curriculum. Your lessons are built around where your voice is and where it wants to go... technique, repertoire, presence, all of it in service of the thing you came to say.

“Loud and proud,
wrong and strong.”

You sing full-out here... never small and careful. It’s the only honest way to hear what your voice really wants to do, and the fastest way to change it.

The set builds around you.

No cookie-cutter curriculum, no wasted time. Three threads run through every lesson, woven to fit the singer in the room.

  1. 01

    Technique that holds up

Breath and support, registration bridging, vowel shaping, vocal health. Taught through feel, backed by real vocal science... you’ll understand why your voice does what it does, and how to do it again on purpose.

  2. 02

    Presence that fills the room

The room should feel you before it hears you. Mic craft, staging, eye contact, emotional delivery... the part of singing that happens between you and everyone watching.

  3. 03

    Artistry that sounds like you

Repertoire chosen to stretch your range, your phrasing, and who you are as an artist... songs that grow you.

Every stage walks into the lesson room.

Clubs, theaters, festivals, a Grammy nomination... sixteen years of singing for a living, and all of it shows up to teach.

One hour together in the studio. We sing, we listen, and we map where your voice is and where it wants to go.

If it’s a fit, you choose a package from there... most students study in packs of four or eight across the semester.

Debo keeps the roster small by design. When the studio is full, new inquiries join the waitlist in order.
